Here are some projects I have worked on in 2011:
GivingEffectively.org
is a website to promote effective giving. It is meant to encourage people to consider the effectiveness of charities they choose to give to. Because charities vary in their abilites to help people, giving to the best charity can do thousands of time as much good as giving to an average charity. The website provides references and links for further reading.
ChangeTheDefault.org
is a website to spread the message about a simple change that could save about 6,400 US lives per year. This many people die annually because there are no organs to trasplant. Numerous people who are not registered organ donors die with organs that could be transplanted. A simple change on the form at the DMV that requires people to answer the question "Would you like to be an organ donor?" increases rates of organ donorship. I want these changes sooner.
HappinessBooks.net
is a website with reviews I have written of books about happiness that I have read. While currently still far away from completion, I hope visitors will benefit from having a single website with comprehensive resources about happiness. For old projects click here
